[Event Coverage] Final of the Connected Vehicle Smart Applications Dark Horse Competition

On the evening of 26 August, the final of the Internet of Vehicles Intelligent Applications Dark Horse Competition—jointly organised by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Eastern Centre for National Technology Transfer, Innospace, New Micro Innovation Source and the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—kicked off at the New Micro Building of the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology. Three teams in the competition utilised Sijie’s millimetre-wave radar sensor modules, with two of them ultimately winning third prize.

Registration is now open for the Connected Vehicle Smart Applications Hackathon

Organised by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and hosted by New Micro-Innovation, this ‘Dark Horse Competition’ for intelligent connected vehicle applications is guided by the philosophy of ‘Hard Technology · Creating the Future’. Leveraging the innovation platform of the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and in conjunction with national-level specialised co-working spaces, the competition aims to accelerate the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology within the automotive industry, identify promising projects, and facilitate technology transfer and the commercialisation of research outcomes.

On the 6th, at the 2017 World Congress on Intelligent and Connected Vehicles held in Jiading, Shanghai, Xin Guobin, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated in his opening address that the development of intelligent and connected vehicles is a key vehicle for advancing the construction of a ‘Transport Powerhouse’, ‘Digital China’ and a ‘Smart Society’.
