Domestically produced millimetre-wave radar aids water conservancy projects in Jiashan

Recently, the water conservancy authorities in Jiashan County have been vigorously advancing work on hydrological monitoring and river channel improvement in Jiashan, whilst seeking solutions to issues such as monitoring accuracy and data silos. The millimetre-wave radar water level monitoring sensor developed by Zhejiang Xinli Microelectronics has filled this technological gap in China and is capable of accurate and effective water level monitoring.

Discussions and exchanges at the meeting


On the morning of 6 September, our company’s project manager demonstrated the latest products—including millimetre-wave radar water level gauges, water and rainfall monitoring equipment, and safety monitoring equipment for small and medium-sized reservoir embankments—to leaders from the County Water Conservancy Bureau and representatives from the Jiashan Science and Technology Innovation Park. Compared with imported products, the products developed by Zhejiang Xinli Microelectronics in collaboration with downstream enterprises feature lower power consumption, faster speeds and higher accuracy, with advanced technical specifications. They achieve domestic substitution and surpass imported equivalents, effectively enhancing the reliability and accuracy of hydrological monitoring whilst reducing costs and improving efficiency. Furthermore, by utilising Internet of Things (IoT) technology—taking physical river basins as units and digital twin river basins as a foundation—they enable synchronous simulation of physical and digital river basins, thereby providing a range of sensors for the development of smart water management.
